Este modelo representa a un barco vikingo encontrado en el año 1880 cerca del pueblo Gokstad de Noruega. Lo historiadores marcan el inicio de la era vikinga en el año 793, cuando una orda atacó el monasterio de Saint Cuthbert en el noroeste de Inglaterra. Aquel fué el primero de los asaltos de un pueblo fiero y de expertos navegantes originarios de escandinavia, los vikingos dominaron casi tres siglos una vasta área de la Europa del Norte y crearon una red de poder que comprendia del Atlantico Norte al mar Caspio y del circulo Artico al Mediterraneo. This model represents a Viking ship found in 1880 near the town of Gokstad in Norway. Historians mark the beginning of the Viking era in 793, when an orde attacked the monastery of Saint Cuthbert in north-west England. That was the first of the assaults of a fierce people and expert navigators originating from Scandinavia, the Vikings dominated a vast area of Northern Europe for almost three centuries and created a network of power that included from the North Atlantic to the Caspian Sea and the circle Arctic to the Mediterranean. Dieses Modell stellt ein Wikingerschiff dar, das 1880 in der Nähe der norwegischen Stadt Gokstad gefunden wurde. Historiker markieren den Beginn der Wikingerzeit im Jahr 793, als ein Orden das Kloster Saint Cuthbert im Nordwesten Englands angriff.
