La Sociedad de Salvamento y Seguridad Marítima, también conocida por el acrónimo SASEMAR o de modo extraoficial como Salvamento Marítimo, es una entidad pública empresarial encargada de la seguridad marítima en aguas españolas. Está bajo dependencia directa del Ministerio de Transportes, Movilidad y Agenda Urbana por medio de la Dirección General de la Marina Mercante. Su fundación data del año 1992, a raíz de la promulgación de la Ley 27/92 de Puertos del Estado y de la Marina Mercante, entrando en funcionamiento en el año 1993.5 La Sociedad de Salvamento y Seguridad Marítima tiene como principal tarea el llevar a cabo operaciones de búsqueda y rescate en las zonas de responsabilidad asignadas a España, que cubren más de 1 500 000 km². También tiene asignadas otras tareas como la lucha contra la contaminación marítima, el control del tráfico marítimo -especialmente en zonas de gran tráfico como son el Estrecho de Gibraltar y el dispositivo de separación de tráfico (DST) a la altura de Finisterre -, y la asistencia a embarcaciones. The Sociedad de Salvamento y Seguridad Marítima, also known by the acronym SASEMAR or unofficially as Salvamento Marítimo, is a public business entity in charge of maritime safety in Spanish waters. It is under direct dependence of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda through the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine. Its foundation dates from the year 1992, as a result of the promulgation of Law 27/92 of State Ports and the Merchant Navy, beginning to operate in 1993.5 The Maritime Rescue and Safety Society's main task is to carry out search and rescue operations in the areas of responsibility assigned to Spain, which cover more than 1,500,000 km². Die Sociedad de Salvamento und Seguridad Marítima, auch bekannt unter dem Akronym SASEMAR oder inoffiziell als Salvamento Marítimo, ist eine öffentliche Einrichtung, die für die Sicherheit des Seeverkehrs in spanischen Gewässern zuständig ist. Es steht in direkter Abhängigkeit vom Ministerium für Verkehr, Mobilität und städtische Agenda durch die Generaldirektion der Handelsmarine. Seine Gründung stammt aus dem Jahr 1992, als Ergebnis der Verkündung des Gesetzes 27/92 über staatliche Häfen und die Handelsmarine , in Betrieb genommen im Jahr 1993.5 Die Hauptaufgabe der Maritime Rescue and Safety Society besteht darin, Such- und Rettungsaktionen in den Verantwortungsbereichen Spaniens durchzuführen, die mehr als 1.500.000 km² umfassen.
