La clase Aresa PVC-160 (Patrullera de Vigilancia Costera) es una serie de patrulleras de la Armada Española diseñadas y fabricadas por el astillero Aresa (hoy llamado Drassanes d'Arenys, S.A.), de Arenys de Mar (Barcelona). La estructura del casco es de tipo sándwich, construido de poliéster y fibra de vidrio. Las embarcaciones disponen de dos líneas de eje y dos timones. Aunque fueron entregadas como patrulleras (de ahí su designación, como se ha indicado), la puesta en funcionamiento del Servicio Marítimo de la Guardia Civil a partir de 1992 provocó que la Armada diera de baja buena parte de sus buques de patrulla de pequeño tamaño, al ser asumidas sus funciones por dicho Cuerpo. De este modo, y al ser embarcaciones que entonces tenían todavía pocos años, la gran mayoría fueron transferidas al llamado Tren Naval, como falúas y lanchas de transporte de personal. De las 23 adquiridas sólo quedan en servicio dos como patrulleras, la P-111 y la P-114, aunque 10 más permanecen en el Tren Naval. Está patrullera en concreto por un error humano se encallo en la baja conocida como las dos hermanas, casi hundida fue remolcada al muellito de Puerto de la Cruz por otra embarcación llamada MARINA, tras el aviso de las gentes que se percataron del incidente, no hubo que lamentar heridos....posteriormente y tras repararla fue llevada al Arsenal de Las Palmas. The Aresa PVC-160 class (Coastal Surveillance Patrol Boat) is a series of patrol boats of the Spanish Navy designed and manufactured by the Aresa shipyard (today called Drassanes d'Arenys, S.A.), of Arenys de Mar (Barcelona). Die Aresa PVC-160-Klasse (Coastal Surveillance Patrol Boat) ist eine Reihe von Patrouillenbooten der spanischen Marine, die von der Aresa-Werft (heute Drassanes d'Arenys, S.A.) in Arenys de Mar (Barcelona) entworfen und hergestellt wurden. Obwohl sie als Patrouillenboote übergeben wurden (daher ihre Bezeichnung, wie angegeben), veranlasste die Inbetriebnahme des Seedienstes der Zivilgarde ab 1992 die Marine, einen Großteil ihrer kleinen Patrouillenschiffe außer Dienst zu stellen, wenn ihre Funktionen erfüllt sind von diesem Körper angenommen. Insbesondere dieses Patrouillenboot lief aufgrund menschlicher Fehler in der Tiefe, die als die beiden Schwestern bekannt war, auf Grund und wurde fast versenkt.
